Happiness, love, freedom, and suffering are all connected. When put together, they express our true dignity and destiny as we are guided on our way to greater love in Christ.
In this powerful lesson, we will examine the four kinds of love, storge (affection), filia (friendship), eros (romantic love), and agape (unconditional love). We will also see how suffering can contribute to our pursuit of happiness, instead of detracting from it. Suffering can be redemptive, and can lead to humility, compassion, and virtue. It can also redirect our attention, snapping us out of superficial distractions and complacency by forcing us to look—perhaps for the first time—at the deeper purpose for our lives.
